Everything I recommend in “Recommended Resources” has been tried and enjoyed by me and/or my family.
Disclosure: I participate in the Amazon Service LLC Associate Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for me to earn a fee by linking to Amazon.com and affiliate sites. Do not worry; this fee does not affect the price of the product you buy and gives you access to it without the need to navigate Amazon.com to get it. So it’s a win-win situation!
Keep in mind that the following Amazon links are for Amazon US. Unfortunately, I cannot share links for Amazon in other Latin American countries. Still, you can look for these titles in your country or try the Kindle or Audiobook edition. The last ones may be available to buy using the link I share, saving you time looking for these books elsewhere.
Dr. Benjamin Bikman, PhD
From Dr. Bikman: “There is a great deal of misinformation out there.” “Some of it is from a simple misunderstanding, some of it is willful deception to push an agenda, but almost all of it has absolutely no basis in human clinical research, and it’s harming a lot of people’s health and weight.”
Dr. Bikman is a pathophysiology and biomedical scientist professor at Brigham Young University (Utah, US), whose research agenda focuses on the molecular mediators of obesity and its co-morbidities.
Gary Taubes’ Books
Gary Taubes is an investigative science and health journalist and co-founder of the non-profit Nutrition Science Initiative (NuSI.org). He has spent years investigating the topics below while experiencing in person the results of adopting the way of eating he writes about. Knowing the history and facts about the nutrition guidelines and food industry is eye-opening. I highly recommend all his books, but especially the following ones:
Dr. Jason Fung
Dr. Jason Fung is a doctor, author, and researcher. He is also the co-founder of the Intensive Dietary Management Program, North America’s leading clinic to help people lose weight and reverse Type 2 Diabetes naturally with fasting. The Diabetes Code, The Obesity Code, and The Complete Guide to Fasting have challenged the conventional wisdom that diabetics should be treated with insulin. The Obesity Code is the book I have recommended to family, friends, and clients/patients.
Of all the knowledge, that most worth having is knowledge about health! The first requisite of a good life is to be a healthy person.
